Committees
Like to do stuff? Join a committee! Active committee members receive all of the benefits of membership. Committees are run by members of our Board of Directors.
Education
The Education Committee strives to make the Collective's work in addressing the larger environmental, social and political issues related to food systems today more tangible and accessible to students and the surrounding community. This includes organizing a semesterly DeCal on Berkeley in the Global Food System.
Outreach
The Outreach Committee produces materials that advertise and inform about the Berkeley Student Food Collective. They'll make sure you hear about us on the radio, read about us in the paper, and swoon over us after picking up one of our screenprinted t-shirts for free!
Policy
The Policy Committee is responsible for writing the organization's policies and bylaws and for ensuring that these are enforced. The Policy Committee also manages legal matters pertaining to state and federal regulations. Big-time stuff for big-time students!
Food
The food committee prepares fresh food for in-store sales and provides food for events.
Membership
The Membership Committee is responsible for obtaining and keeping track of members, co-ordinating volunteer schedules, and also for ensuring that members are informed about the Collective's goings-on.
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee works to raise capital for the Collective by seeking out grants, organizing grassroot fundraising campaigns and planning our annual Harvest Gala.
Storefront
The Storefront Committee is responsible for securing furnishings, fixtures, and equipment for our storefront.
