On November 17, we put on our fourth annual fundraising Gala, two years after opening our storefront at 2440 Bancroft. The Gala is extremely important to our organization as it helps support our educational programs throughout the year, such as cooking workshops, guest lectures, film screenings, and field trips for our members and the larger Berkeley community. Funds from the Gala also contribute to the operational costs in our storefront.
Each year, volunteers and coordinators come together to organize the Gala, which includes a silent auction and a four course, ecologically-sound, local, fair, and humane meal. Guests will also enjoy student musical performances and speeches from student and community activists. The Gala is a great opportunity to learn about our organization’s future goals and past achievements.
